Boss BR Recorders and Windows 10?

I got a reply from my contact at Roland US. It sounds like the engineers in Japan aren't saying much except that they're continuing to work on compatibility testing and updates, and will update the Windows 10 Compatibility page as new information becomes available.

QuoteHere is a link to the Roland page with Windows 10 support information:

The engineers are still adding to the online listing for the Windows 10 compatibility chart. We have asked them for more information, but all they have been able to tell us so far is that they will add items to this chart as quickly as they are able.

I also asked him if BR Wave Converter and BR Rhythm Editor would work correctly with Windows 10 or if new versions would be coming. He said:

QuoteWe would expect that that software (wave converter, etc.) will function correctly in Windows 10, and that all current BOSS recorders will be getting updated drivers, but do not know for sure if any of the older / discontinued models will be cut off, or will receive updated drivers.

He also said that he'd let me know if he sees any more info on the BOSS products and Windows 10. If I hear anything else from him, I'll report it here.

I shared Alf's experience and then I couldn't find a driver to run the BR800 as my audio interface and sound card for my PC. So, I rolled it back to Windows 7 and I will wait until the Roland Drivers department catches up and then, maybe, I will go ahead with the upgrade to Windows 10.

We had Windows 10 for a few days and it seemed OK but I didn't see anything startling that I had to have.

Update!

 :)

Micro-BR and BR-80 OK! (plus various other models I don't know). Let's hope the same for BR-800 too...

No problems for the W10 BR-800 driver too, it's officially confirmed.

LeonĂ , per SD-50 non ci sono problemi:

Per lo zoom R8, it's not clear, the last official Windows driver was released just one month ago...

Hey Guys,

I upgraded to Windows 10 again yesterday and it found a BR800 driver automatically.

I had downloaded a file from the Roland site just in case but I didn't need it.

Everything is working normally.

I did a custom install of Windows 10 and did not enable the file sharing and other questionable attributes. But I guess that it is difficult to tell what is REALLY going on in the background.
