Cold - AndyR Original

AndyR

This one's a bit of a ponderous beastie.

It can be whatever you want it to be. For me, it's got a lot to do with Sunday 18th June 1815.

A bunch of Lucy the Les Paul, a touch of piano, some organ, and the trusty Jazz bass.

And a lot less vocals than usual on something of this nature - I got knackered! (In fact, most of the vocals are still the guide vocals - I couldn't better them)

--------------------------------

Your wagon-train
Is out of danger
And of course you never lie
Not to a stranger

How many times must we pull on the handle?
Once in a while it comes off in our hand
How many times must we reach for the blanket?
When all I ever feel is
All I ever feel is
All I ever feel is cold
Cold

You chose this ground
Before the rain came
Your belief you could not lose
Takes some explaining

Draw near the fire
For an arm round the shoulder
Once in a while a nice cup of tea
How many times were we promised the answer?
When all I ever feel is
All I ever feel is
All I ever feel is cold

How many times can we hide in the corner?
Once in a while we get clean away
How many times must we plead for the answer?
When all I ever feel is
All I ever feel is
All I ever feel is cold
Cold

I never planned
To feel so cold

I listened to this yesterday but got called away before I could comment.

I like the opening guitar lick, it grabs me right from the start. Great chunky guitars with that lick resurfacing at intervals. The vocal, like James says is super.

Smashing recording and production. Certainly up to the Russe standard.

Great songwriting and performances Andy! I can hear why you stayed with the guide vocal track because it sounds excellent. The LP has the right tone for this style of rock. Well done!

Liked the guitar riff a lot!! Nicely arranged song - everything is in balance; peaceful and "powerful" spots fit well together!

Top class vocal as well!

Fine job, Andy!
