that is exactly how I aspire to play (like you not me). Thank you so much! I have been tinkering with a few licks (is that right?). The intro to "come as you are - Nirvana" and "Folsom Prison - Johnny Cash" I'm assuming that a few simple licks will eventually lead to something a lot more exciting.

I'm going to change the way I practice thanks to the link you sent me Tony. I don't know why it didn't dawn on me that I will not progress without attempting more advanced stuff.
I've spent entirely too long learning basic chords, and even got complimented by a few legit musicians as to how cleanly I transition. I'm often too critical and and enough of a perfectionist that I have not given myself an opportunity to advance.
