I dont post as regularly as other members but my previous posts had some comments so I'm flummoxed as to why, this time around, I'm getting NOTHING abou this great song I offer to you to critique & enjoy?

Since you asked...for me it was the arrogant nature of the original post ( and a bit with your now edited post) that made me not even want to listen at all. In fact I think had I listened it wouldn't have mattered if the song was any good, I would have already disliked it from your post. I found it fitting that no one responded being the nature of songcrafters is rather positive and your challenge (post) was unessessary at best. I've enjoyed your tunes in the past but I'm not checking out this one, sorry.

Yep, I wouldn't have put it that way - but I see exactly where Hook's coming from

It's a cool song.

The way most of us get listens is to just post it and not care too much... but just before posting and just after posting, listen and comment on a load of other people's stuff. People usually notice if you say something nice about their stuff and they'll check you out.

There's kind of a relaxed vibe here, rather than competitive - everyone treats it different obviously, but I kinda see it as a place to go after "work" (making music), you've got a new thing in your bag, but instead you go "hey what have you made?" to others, they show you, and then they return the compliment.

Yeah, we are all showing off and promoting our own stuff, but as a community we probably tend to get jumpy if someone appears to be a bit pushy (even if they're not really). And most of us, me certainly, probably go by the "if you can't say anything nice, best not say anything at all" way of doing things...

I suspect that's why you got no comments on the original post. Me, I've just found you - I listened to it in this post a while earlier, but from what you were saying, I wasn't sure how to respond... I'm guessing that's what happened with folks on the original.

Over all, I think most of us find this a nurturing kind of place, that's why we come here - and in order for it to feel like that, we need to be nurturing others. Creativity is a fragile thing, and a lot of places I've been before have had vibes that feel quite destructive - people taking without giving, people giving "advice" where it's not needed, people demanding advice that no-one can actually give...

This place is more "look for what you like and say so when you find it", and while you're at it, leave your own stuff on the table by the door so people can have a look-see themselves.

Others will do it different, but that's how it works for me

Actually I always try to look for songs with the least views and plays
to enecourage new folks and give a fair shake 2 all. beside comenting
on the very well played songs and bumps. this was  a nice song
did have a nice blues sound. very interesting use of instruments.
and good vocals..all I n all worth a good listen keep the faith

my reaction was exactly the same as Hook's. I didn't listen either. AndyR gives good advice. But Hook hits the nail firmly on the head.

You now have two threads for the same song, perhaps they should be merged but that is something the admin team should discuss. I still haven't listened to your song. again for the same reasons as described by Hook.

I'm wondering what part of my challenge you "didn't get". Confidence is not hubris, is it? I didn't come here seeking aid or critique, but to bestow the gift that smelts in the forge of years of previous critiques. 
Maybe your collective reaction is proof ive outgrown the need for these forums.
No disrespect was, or is meant.
Expectation is my only enemy.
