Adobe Audition failing to find Plugins? Here's a fix for that.

I recently ran into this problem. When I set Audition to scan for plugins it just sat dead and found nothing.
After beating on it for three days I finally found the source of the problem. A registry entry that pointed Audition at a folder that did not contain just plugin files. When I installed MeldaProduction plugins, the installer created a sub-folder within the VST folder called MeldaProduction. The scanner did not take that change into consideration so it failed to find and register any plugins, just sat dead on its ass, doing nothing. Sort of like Congress.

A registry scan soon located the entry and I modified said entry so it included the sub-folder in the scan. Success!
Now the plugin scanner works as it should.

Here is what the registry change looks like.

Original entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Wow6432Node\VST\VSTPluginsPath\VST

Changed entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Wow6432Node\VST\VSTPluginsPath\VST\MeldaProduction

Just add the folder, or sub-folder where your plugins installed, reboot the computer then run Audition again and
do another plugin scan. They should all show up, ready to use.
