Been doing some "guitar maintenance" - SG not Faded no more

With the new Les Paul, it became time to move some pickups around between other guitars. My Tokai Love Rock got the Bare Knuckles Mississippi Queens (humbucker sized P90s), the Explorer got the 57 Classics that were in the Love Rock, and my SG got its Bare Knuckles Riff Raffs back...

But while I was at it, I did, some, er, mods...

First up was my 335 - a black satin finish whose neck had got shiny from me playing it. Seeing what the guitar could look like, I decided to polish out the satin finish. I got some burnishing cream from Rothko and Frost and got stuck in. No pics yet, the effect will be hard to capture, but "woo, yeah!".

Then I looked at my Faded SG. Is a Faded finish thick enough? (I'm wearing through to the wood on the back of the neck from just playing it). So tested a spot on the back and... WOW! Minimal colour came away on the cloth and the effect was stunning.

Here's the result... I do have pics, but they don't capture the vibe as well as this vid does

Is just a piece of paper
To say a few lines
Make up my mind
So she can read it later
