too  early for the new fests but never mind it's a relative new one anyway so wouldn't count.

i've been trying to get to grips with my new br800.

hence my long absences and slow responses to collabs etc.

oh and not forgetting work and the festive season dragging me away from what's important  ;D ;D.

anyway you can blame bluesberry for this re-imagining.

and don't worry , song is not about me, i am in character.

hopefully in a few years i'll get the hang of the br800.
i'll put on my brave face
to face the world
i won't show my feelings
to anyone
i'll be the life of the party
the heart and soul
so no one will notice
so no one will know
that inside
i'm falling apart
i'll pick up the pieces
try and start again
from all my mistakes
i will try to learn
and all of my wrongs
i will try to right
but will anyone notice
will anyone know
that inside
i'm falling apart
all of my wrongs (falling apart)

This is amazing, James!! Loved the original version, but this big production version puts it a huge leap forward! Very rich sounding job! Congrats for the new gear!

Definitely a different sound than the Micro BR (more rich? more clarity? I can't quite pin it down.) - I like it a lot! I need to use mine. :)

Did you sing into the built-in mics? How does it compare to the Micro BR? I think I'd miss being able to hold the recorder up to sing into it, but then again, I'm always "cleaning" handling noises up in Audition - and there are so many when you hold the recorder.

This version reminds me of later Joy Division - always a good thing. I dig it.

i used the onboard mics. at one point i was seriously considering plugging my mbr into the line in and using that for vocals as i am more familiar with the patches on that.

the onboard mics are great but i'm still familiarising myself with the patches. for now i've been using a sort of distance/faraway patch. not sure of it's name.

This sounds very good James, the clarity is brilliant and I'm glad you used the on board mikes as the vocal is crystal clear.
Your song sounds big and lush.
Well done.

I like the rhythm, and I like the pad. It fills out he sound nicely. And I think you've kept the intimate feel that I liked in the first go although I think having the vocals a little less "up" in the mix might make this take just a tad less nerve baring. That being said, I cannot complain about this version at all. I think it goes to show how good the song is or maybe how well you perform it (or maybe both) that both versions stand up so well.

I agree with bluesberry, keep on layering - man, multi tracking is your friend...
The vocal is really clear and close.

I'd say you're getting the hang of the BR800 quite well.
It is a bunch of learning curves thrown into one box.
Multi-tracking can really mess w one's head, but the results....  stunning.
Good goin' bluesberry!
So good to hear your voice again, James!  DD

Thanks for listening!
