This is something I wrote and spontaneously put to piano. The particular recording here was on an afternoon I'd been singing for longer than I should have and by this time was already lightheaded from trying to hold certain notes...lol I needed the distraction though and just never shared this before.

Live piano, slight echo added to help bring out the clarity in what I'm saying. Words get muffled more than I would like with how I have to record things.

I Could Never

Was somewhere we shouldn't be.
Was something we shouldn't see,
With a need we should not feel.
It's why touch may never heal us –
Love may never turn us real.

Disallow any peace such a
Happening would bring.
Take your leave from me
As we are not my dream.
Forbidden now to everything
I've said I cannot keep.

At home in my insecurity,
And pride has found no place for the weak.
The memories are made worse for my silence
I could never scream.
So, to fear I belong and become.
Connections made and from which
I've always run.

Your grace may never heal me, Love.
You might never be enough.

Me too!

Yet another stunner rolls off the production line, you have a real knack of creating "big" sounding songs with only a piano and voice at your disposal, and again this is songwriting of the highest order.

Some beautiful piano sequences in there, and once again your dramatic and powerful vocal makes the song just soar.

Seriously good again!

I do like those held notes that you mentioned. Also, recording can be difficult but there are many options. Some are less expensive than others. A clear vocal recording would do wonders in bringing out that lyric. Regardless, keep writing and recording songs. It's the song that counts.

I definitely will continue writing. It seems I truly depend on it now at this point in my life. Thank you so much for listening and for your advice. For all I know that could be made better in creating my songs, just having an outlet at all and others with a willingness to be open to what's shared is more than enough. I'm very grateful to have found this site.
