OK in my town the only record shop has brought the price of CDs down ,but I reckon the biggest market is still for old music -and the average person now buys CDs for presents
for Mothers Day -Christmas -Fathers Day etc or Fathers wifes day
 "Mam/Mom loves" Andy Williams/Elvis (Presley that is) or someone like Daniel O'Donnell
it's a handy gift to pick up and does'nt require brain storming
The Uncles like the Beatles and Rolling Stones or Frank Sinatra-

I cannot precisely remember the last year in which I bought a music CD. Certainly over thirty years ago.

If the music moguls depended on people like me to earn their living, they all would be homeless by now.

I'm a nice guy. I'd hand out free cardboard boxes so they'd all have a cozy place to call their home.

I used to think of myself as somewhat of an audiophile, but honestly, I can't tell much of a difference any more between an MP3 (with a decent bit rate) and a CD.

i reckon if you can tell the difference between an mp3 at 192kbp and a cd, you have bat genes. either that or my ears are fecked with years of loud music getting rammed doon em.
