So yesterday I made 3 drum tracks to record to this week using DrumJam for 2 & garageband for the other. I use the random rythm feature in both where you roll the dice. Garageband has better rock type drums but you have very little control, Drumjam you have a lot of control. You can select random rhythms but you can also skip back to the ones you have already used & then move forward through them. That's real nice for constructing cohesive drum tracks to write to but the drums are very world music sounding, heavy on the percussion side with little trapset features. Both are super cool to have for inspiration.
This tune started as a drum track from DrumJam & then developed from there. I've never attempted slap bass but the track slightly to the left is my feeble attempt.
1 drum track (stereo DJ)
2 bass tracks
1 lead vocal (stereo)
2 background vocals

Cold & Cruel
written & performed by Hook
Could this have been calculated
could this have been preconceived
How can you be so cold & cruel

Taken advantage of innocence
Manipulated, broken in 2
How can you be so cold & cruel

Master plan, molded & shaped
Executed, motive defined
How can you be so cold & cruel

Mistaken meaning, misunderstood
Momentary lapse of judgment
How can you be so cold & cruel

Cool.  Love the laid back vocal work and the harmonies.  Bass driven for sure.  Nice job! :)

Well slapped sir! Great bass work that really complements the vocals nicely. I like the way the layers of bass and vox build to the sudden ending. Another excellent Bassfest entry.
