Another tune started with the drum arrangement. I once again used the roll the dice feature on the garageband smart drums. I let each rythm play until I felt like a change. Then I had to design the song around the random rythm changes. Makes for some interesting dynamics. All the other tracks are actual instruments this time around, recorded in the car, at home and I recorded the conga part at my church this afternoon. I haven't been real pleased with the mbr mic for my vocals lately so I pulled out my zoom ps-02 and used the mic and vocal patch from that unit into the mbr. recorded/mixed/mastered on the mbr, cleaned up, leveled & normalized in audacity.

As I Command
written & performed by Hook
Leggo my ego
I know where, why & how to flow
It's a burden I control

I stopped time or did it just slow
So far down to move the soul
& shake the very ground

Change stone to sand
to wave my hand
& to know it's
As I command

I stopped time or did it just slow
So far down to move the soul
& shake the very ground

My Ego's built with Legos
It's a mighty firm hold
But if a strong wind blows
I go

Change stone to sand
to wave my hand
& to know it's
As I command

I stopped time or did it just slow
So far down to move the soul
& shake the very ground

Change stone to sand
to wave my hand
& to know it's
As I command

I stopped time or did it just slow
So far down

Great tune. The real conga gives life to the garageband drums. Well done.

Nicely done Bro. Really interesting lyrics, I think all our ego's are built of lego, one gust and the whole lot come's tumbling down, and you never feel like rebuilding after that! I like a song that makes you think - great stuff.

Man, I loved that...hooked me right from your "Leggo my eggo" pun.  8)

Very interesting idea on the song construction. Those Garageband drums sound really great (live), but the congas really make it. Of course, loved the ukes.

Well done, Hook!

There is a lot going on here Hook, and its also pieced together wonderfully, and because of the unique blend of instruments it gives the song its own strong identity.

Fantastic groove and your vocal is top notch
