Everytime I hear the likes of Wiley, Ferryman, Greeny and ORH (to name but a few) I wish I could sing.....
So after reading about Mic effects I thought I'd have a go..I'm cringing as I am writing this but here goes......
Having said this I enjoyed having a good old romp with the rock and roll guitars tho.........

BTW That's not a distortion effect on my voice its just many years of cigarettes and Whiskey ;D ;D ;D

guitarron

I dig this song
vocal prosessor cigarettes and whiskey-lol
vox a little buried in the mix

I agree, your voice it sounds good for this type of song, bring the volume up a bit more on your voice.  Thats a blues rock voice for sure.  Your singing is in key, that is the main thing.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

I think you've got a great voice for this kind of music. The cig and whiskey has worked well - I detect a hint of good old Cap Beefheart here. It probably sounds odd to you if you're not used to hearing your voice recorded but it sounds great to me on this track. The vox recorded well, well done for doing it.

I think the vox are about OK, i wouldn't push them too much higher if you do, but I would bring up the guitar in the left hand channel that's handling the lead lines as IMO it's a bit lost - boost it up in the intro and when you're not singing. But a great effort. Singing that gruff, rough stuff is quite hard to pull off.

Cheers,

Nigel

PS nice Marshall stack in your avatar!

I am flattered that you did a great solo 8)
I take all the pointers and would love to be able to re mix it..
I believe once its mastered you are buggered?
Also I ran out of tracks ( I am not into the V1 malarky yet)
so I couldn't add a solo >:(
Could I have changed the volume on bits of the mix whilst mixing ie
change the volume of the vox in the first bit ( I think I brought the mic closer to my mouth in the second bit?
Thanks I'm not cringing as much now ;)

Forte..... Dude that rocked! Why cringe??? .... sounds like I'm listening to live ZZ Top.

Guitarron... Fit so well, adds to the song big time.

How about a full collab between you guys???

Very cool indeed - there's some real rockers here. Great guitar playing all round.

Cheers,

Nigel
