We're now into our 6th year and I thought it would be interesting to look back at the history of Songcrafters.

Timeline:

Significant Events:

Dec 2007
    - Dec 15   Pedro creates microrecorders.org.
    - Dec 16   First message posted by Pedro.
    - Dec 17   oldrottenhead joined and posted his first message (a song, of course).
    - Dec 20   64Guitars joined and posted his first message.

Sep 2008
   - Sep 19   Flash Harry joined and posted his first message.

Apr 2009
    - Apr  5   microrecorders.org renamed BossBR.net.

May 2009
    - May 10   64Guitars became Global Moderator.
    - May 30   NeilFest begins. It was the first official, full-length festival.

Jul 2009
   - Jul  1   cuthbert joined.
   - Jul 10   cuthbert posts his first message.

Nov 2009
   - Nov 22   First annual YuleFest begins.

Dec 2009
   - Dec 18   Site makeover. Portal added.
   - Dec 21   Songcrafters.org domain name registered.

Feb 2010
   - Feb 23   Pedro announces his plan to close the site forever. But 12 hours later, he decides to pass the site on to a new admin team led by 64Guitars.

Mar 2010
   - Mar  2   Pedro accepts the admin team of Flash Harry, 64Guitars, and oldrottenhead to take over the site.
   - Mar  5   Site put into Maintenance Mode to begin transfer from Pedro's account to Flash Harry's.
   - Mar 10   Songcrafters back online under new administration with cuthbert as Global Moderator.

May 2011
   - May  3   cuthbert became an Administrator.

Apr 2012
   - Apr 24   Ted "Lectric" Degerstrom passed away (joined Songcrafters Aug 17, 2010. Last post Jan 11, 2012).

Apr 2014
   - Apr 14   Tony Jones (Witchita/tafka) passed away (joined Songcrafters in 2008. Last post Jul 3, 2013).

Jan 2015
   - Jan  2   Robbie Burns (Facemask93) passed away (joined Songcrafters Jan 30, 2008. Last post Oct 19, 2014).

Dec 2017
   - Dec  1   Major update of Songcrafters. New theme in shades of brown and beige replaces the old theme which was shades of blue and white. SMF forum software updated from version 1.1.21 to version 2.0.15. Simple Portal software used on the old site was scrapped in favour of a new custom portal.
   - Dec 15   The 10th anniversary of Songcrafters.
   - Dec 28   Tommy Knox (fenderbender) passed away (joined Songcrafters August 23, 2009. Last post July 7, 2017).

Jun 2018
   - Jun 28   Neil Swanson (SwanSong) passed away (joined Songcrafters February 6, 2010. Last post December 12, 2017). Obituary at Petkus & Son Funeral Home, Lemont, Illinois.

Oct 2020
   - Oct  7   Added a new Help board as a child-board of the Songcrafters.org board for documentation about various features of the site.

July 2021
   - Jul 12 (approximately)   Mike McGrath (The Reverend 48) passed away (Joined Songcrafters Oct 11, 2008, Last post Apr 9, 2016).

You and all the other guys should be proud,it's a great site full of great characters.

I've added a new "Veteran Member" status above the member's avatar in each post. The criteria is a bit different than what I used for the list above. It's any member who joined microrecorders.org in its first year (ie; prior to Dec 16, 2008) and has logged-in in the past three months.
