After reminiscing over the Song Intros topic, I got the idea to have another Name the Tune game where we all post very short snippets of songs and everyone tries to guess what they are. The snippets will be so short that I don't think there's any danger of copyright infringement. They can be intros to songs, and I suspect that most will be, but that isn't a requirement. You can use any part of the song that's recognizable and unique (but hopefully not too recognizable).

As with the other recent games, only one guess at a time and wait till at least two other people have posted guesses before you submit another.

However, you're welcome to upload as many snippets as you like. You can use Audacity or any sound editor to extract the snippet, then save it in MP3 format at 192kbps. Don't forget to clear out the MP3 tags so people can't just look there to find the song title. If you're using Audacity, I'd recommend going into Preferences / Import/Export and checking the box that says "Show Metadata Editor prior to export step". Then everytime you export, the metadata editor will pop up and you can simply click the Clear button to clear its data.

And don't put the song title in your filename. Instead, I'd suggest you start with your username (or an abbreviation of it) followed by a number. People can use the filename as a reference in their guesses.

To get things started, here are a half-dozen snippets. I think most of them will be easy.

I'm not sure if they're too hard or too easy and people can't be bothered stating the obvious. Or maybe it's because they're in the new Games board and people aren't looking there. After oldrottenhead pointed it out, I agree that the first six are probably way too easy. But I thought some of the others were reasonably challenging. Maybe too challenging?
