This is the first original song I've ever posted here. I wrote and recorded this in December 2005 on my BR-864. I came across it last night and decided to send it to oldrottenhead to see if he could do anything with it. I'm thrilled with the result. He wrote some great lyrics and recorded a brilliant vocal track for me. My boring old recording was magically transformed into a song! Thanks oldrottenhead!

I went to sleep in the basement
cos I couldn't get up
I fell down there and bumped my head
and all the lights went out
A broken step, a faulty fuse,
an untied lace on my old shoes
I think I'm down here for the night
I think I'm down here for the night

But in the morning when I woke up
I could see some shafts of light
I saw the bones stick through my skin
I think I'm down here for the night
I think I'm down here for the night

Nice, languid bluesy piece, well-recorded and played - and a cool collab!

Lyrically, it was reminding me of that episode of 'All In The Family' when Archie gets locked in the basement, thinks he's going to die alone, gets drunk, passes out, and then in the morning is saved by 'God'.  :D

And then it went all compound fracture!  :o :o  :D :D :D

Ace!! A top piece of music, one of those that has depth and imagery right from the start. Stir in a well rounded dollop of oldrottenhead and there was only ever gonna be one outcome... 64 oldrottenheads. AAAARRGGHHH!!!!!!!!

Now this is CLASS. Love that jangly guitar, the swooning reverbed slide, and the little banjo-sounding motif. So beautiful and concise. And a great vocal to top it all off nicely. WONDERFUL!

Oldrottenhead

thanks for sending it 64 it was fun to do,

i didn't think i would have had time to do anything with it as it is busy busy busy here, so jumped on it before the rest of the household got out of their scratchers.

i was a bit hungover which greatly influenced the subject matter, if i had come to it later in the day and refreshed it would have probably come back to you as a twee lovesong. ;D ;D ;D
