I love that music can still make me say wow and wtf and sound fresh and creative and exciting...after all these years.

Such is the case with Micachu and the Shapes. I saw them open for Dearhunter and Spoon. Spoon put on a great show but Micachu won me over and made me smile.

Earlier tonight, these two gems shuffled through my piePod while I was on a treadmill.  They made fine running companions:

Quote from: Greeny on April 21, 2010, 02:03:42 AMThis is such an awesome song. I'm sad I only just bought this album after 42 years. I missed a lot of years of listening to it. This is the stunning opening track...

Sweet man, I love Dennis Wilson! Have you seen Two Lane Blacktop? It starts Dennis Wilson, James Tayler, and Warren Oates... great car movie, one of my all time favorites.

For a couple of years now, I've had one song by Sundayrunners off of a compilation.  Half My Height shuffled through yesterday evening, and I finally snapped and bought the entire album.

This is really, really, good, absurdist pop.
