Listening to Al Stewart's "Year of the Cat". Great tune. I go back to that one now and again.

Then I got back to true form and cracked open Rage's "New Millenium Homes". Battle of Los Angeles is a great album.

Interesting you should bring up Al Stewart.  You don't hear about him much anymore, but I've been thinking that Saijinn Maas' "SONG CHALLENGE #1!!!" would lend itself to a very Al Stewart-ish song. (But don't be expecting me to bring it to life.)

[Looking up Al Stewart on Wikipedia...]

He'll be 64 a week from today.  And it looks like he's put out an album about every two years on average since 1967.  I suppose relative obscurity isn't treating him too badly.

Have never heard him until today......

What a voice!

That David Gilmour song is new to me.  I just spent 10 minutes to confirm that was Pino Palladino on bass.

Years before I knew his name, I think Pino planted the seed in my mind that I wanted to have a fretless bass someday.  Jaco Pastorius and Percy Jones were names I knew, but Pino's understated playing on Pete Townshend's album "White City: A Novel" made me think, "I want to do that."  (I still can't.)

It's a fantastic album.  David Gilmour plays on White City Fighting.

Lookee!  This was my 500th post.
