Amazing!!! A Shakin' Stevens album you might want to actually listen to! I saw this advertised on the telly the other day & thought "Blimey that sounds good, I wonder who it is?" Then at the end of the ad they announced it was Shakin' Stevens - the plastic Elvis wannabe in the horrid sweater last heard of in the mid-80s. Check out this track...

Saw him in 1990 at Newcastle City Hall & he did it then as the encore. Brilliant!

Blimey that is good.  And a 'mammoth' tour next year that comes near me (and will be his homecoming gig since he's a Cardiff boy).  Good spot.

My wife has a story every time he comes on the tele how Green Door was the first song she liked, at age three...

He's got some form, though, he did a stint as singer in Slaughter and the Dogs, pre Smiths.

I have been really getting into English folk music lately. Spent a melancholy weekend watching the news about the hurricane and listening to vast amounts of Tim Hardin, Nick Drake, and John Martyn.

I haven't had a song hit me this hard in a while. Even sent John an email with something akin to, "I don't know how I'll fake my way through this, but we must cover this song!"

And I hate exclamation points. Really...if you look back at all my posts, I don't even think you'll find a handful.  Go ahead...  I double-dog dare you.

This is where my head is at these days. So good.

Music begins around :40. He gets cooking after the first verse and chorus.
