have rediscovered supertramp. i bought crime of the century when it first came out and loved it,

just got hold of the remastered cd and wow.

however i then bought "crisis what crisis" on the day of it's release, to my ears it was a pile of depressive indulgent bilge and i never listened to supertramp again, "crisis what crisis" was the first and only album i have paid for and disliked, the act of purchasing an album usually enforces the buyer to do their best to like their purchase.

but "crisis what crisis" sucked and forever after i ignored supertramp.

now with hindsight i realise that i replaced them with a surrogate band.

i was obssessed with the New Zealand band split enz (which led to crowded house), their early stuff is remarkably like supertramp but with a sense of humour and humility.

anyway i forgive supertramp for "crisis what crisis" maybe i will brave "breakfast in america"
