Memories from the past...it was 1972, I was 17 and convinced my parents to go to London for my summer holidays.

I remember one evening at 100 club in Oxford Street, a concert with *the first* Weather Report (M. Vitous, Dom Um Roma, Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul...) and Nucleus. Both bands were almost unknown at that time, so the club was 50% empty. The two bands made sets of half an hour one after each other, and the concert, that began at 9:00, ended at 3:00 in the morning.

Wonderful memories.

Duran Duran did that thing of splitting so the rocky half went one way (Power Station with Robert Palmer) and the arty half went the other (Arcadia).  I had both albums on vinyl in the 80's, but I always prefered the Arcadia.

I recently downloaded the Arcadia album, remastered in 2010 and with dozens of 12" remixes and stuff, having not heard it since the 80's.  I'm a bit obsessed with it.  Better than the Duran Duran stuff, IMBO.

It's alright, they got back together after, in case you were wondering.

I've been playing casettes in the car lately as the CD player is f'ed up. This is from a album I borrowed from the library when I was 16 years old. What a great find. So glad I recorded it to tape.
