Under2Fest (banner image missing)

Another tune for under2fest. I wrote this uke part last night and recorded it this morning. I started layering some tracks with no vocal in mind, something I hardly ever do. Then after I used up all but my 7/8 stereo track I started improvising vocals. Almost the exact opposite of how my songs usually come!
    8 total tracks
1-uke- jc clean
2-uke- ambient (delay)
3-uke- distortion lead
4-uke- ukussion (back of uke drum)
5-finger snaps & hand claps
6-maracca
7/8- stereo vocal

Speak up I really want to hear you
 But don't make a sound
Take pride in what you're doing
But my friend don't be too proud

               I've seen that smile before

Go ahead Speak up tell & me what
You're thinking I'll be right there
Look out, there coming
& If you're not ready well I don't care

              I've seen that smile before

It's never what you want  It's what I need
And it's never what you see  It's what belongs to me

So speak up I really want to hear
From your heart It won't change a thing
Write it down make it rhyme
While you're at it see if it can sing

               I've seen that smile before

You have really bonded with your Uke Hook! From all I've heard, it's a good hook-up. All the hand percussion (and Ukussion) sound great. Nice work on a fast one with a different approach to your normal songwriting technique.

Nice little tune. An all acoustic piece well put together. I thought Tinny Tim was the only Uke player. You certainly showed him!

I like your arrangement on this and the last song of yours I've heard. Both stellar. That ten whistle is a nice touch.
The lyric stands out the most on this one. I'm liking it a lot. You repeat 'speak up' which would be a good title as well, and gives it a nice flavor. that last verse is killer.
