Hi folks , you may be interested in these for a good price in the UK.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/DAddario-EXP110-Nickel-Plated-010--046-Electric/dp/B0035K9WTC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331388023&sr=8-1

I use these on all my electrics, some like them some don't, but I do. Last a while too.

I just bought a set of the D'Addario coated strings for acoustic.........very nice strings.  They seem to be on sale all over the globe right now.  Go out and grab a few packs at that price.

I have them on the Yamaha acoustic too, sound great, but some people can't stand them. I sometimes use rotosound yellows for electric but they loose their tone very quickly but these last the distance. grab em while you can.

Speed Demon

I've used D'Addario strings for many years. I bought them in bulk. 50 strings to a tube. One order was 300 strings, total. Not coiled, as in individual packages. Much cheaper that way.

I generally change the set after 20 hours of playing time, when performing, or if a string breaks I change the entire set immediately. Otherwise, I have one brilliant new string and five not-so-brilliant strings on the instrument.

On the dumb-and-dumber side, I played a fill-in gig with a top 40 band one weekend. The other guitarist had a nice Les Paul, which he had "modified" to make it stay in tune better. The dummy had glued the bridge saddles permanently in place.
I saw that and asked him this question: "What plan do you have in place for fine-tuning your instrument, especially if you put lighter, or heavier strings on it?" I got the doe-in-the-headlights stare.

It was total agony playing two weekend club gigs with a guitarist that was never fully at concert pitch.
Good strings cannot make up for a poorly setup instrument.

I went through every coated string I could find and settled on the D'Addario exp13 custom lights(which are actually 11 gauge?). I don't know what your 3.99 means but I pay $11.99(local store) a set if unless I by 10 packs then I save 15% a little over $10 a pack. They happen to be the cheapest coated string I can find and the best. I found the elixir and cleartone brands($16-$18 local store) got flaky after a few hours of playing and I'd pop one before the end of a 3 set gig. The exp's will turn black on me after a gig and I'm sure to pop a G and perhaps a D if I don't change strings before my next gig but they hold their tone quite nicely and they have no flaking.
Rock on exp! (sponsorship?....hello?)

Here's the American version of the same deal at Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/DAddario-EXP110-Nickel-Plated-010--046-Electric/dp/B0035K9WTC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&sr=8-1

At $9.03, the price isn't as good as the UK deal. At the current exchange rate, £3.99 is $6.25 US.

EXP13s are a bit more at $9.99.

Buying a 10-pack, they actually cost more. ???

http://www.amazon.com/DAddario-Coated-Bronze-Acoustic-Strings/dp/B0064BLBUC/ref=sr_1_8?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&sr=1-8

Best Deal:  You can get EXP13s from Elderly Instruments for $8.00 if you order at least 5 packs. Of course, savings might be offset by shipping charges. However, they qualify for free shipping if you spend more than $49, so just order at least 7 packs and you're laughin'.
