Here's a shot at some mixed meter (if you listen as far as the chorus that is!). Wrote it about 3 hours ago and I'm saying it's done.
1 baritone uke track (copied and panned opposite for mix)
3 vocal tracks
1 drum track(the back of my uke)
1 tambourine track
1 hand clap track

"Taking The Fall"
written & performed by Hook

Rogue baritone ukulele, broken tamborine back of uke drum,my hands
I set up to find proof
And found way more than I could use
Took me less than a day
& your character just melted away
Why do we hide behind?
The thinnest disguise
With these glasses, moustache & nose
I'll be the one no one knows

I'll close my eyes & you won't see me
I am a master of invisibility
My 2nd skin just like camouflage
Perfect plan no chance of sabotage
You be the beggar & I'll be the thief
Try to be convincing because I'm beyond belief
No 2nd guessing just give it your all
If someone goes down it'll be you
             Taking the fall

Now I would like to shut my eyes
And forget that I ever tried
To clear your name
Now in death you still cause so much pain
I never wanted to take sides
I just wanted memories from other times
Now the only picture I have of you
Is someone I never knew

                  Chorus

Now there's no choice for me to make
But there's a heart that I must break
I always knew I'd have a job to do
Tying loose ends up for you

                Chorus

Because the Hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely

The mixed meters work well I think.  Like the feel you get with the accoustic instruments and multi vocal parts.  "Grass roots" comes to mind.  Cool!

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Nice, driving feel on this one - I enjoyed this track.

I really like this tune but would love to hear your vocals pushed up in the mix.  Your vocal phrasing in the second verse is just killer.
