People, comrades, colleagues, friends.

A brother of mine now has a tele and is trying to learn guitar ... but there are seriously NO teachers where he is (think jungles and natives and guns and lawlessness).

Has anyone used or reviewed any teaching DVDs ?

I was thinking of giving him some blues and basic guitar teaching DVDs/books.

Any recommendations ?

Lick Library makes very good guitar intsruction DVDs. I especially like the videos that teach you specific songs from popular albums. They also have general instruction DVDs. For example, this page shows their "Beginner & Basic" DVDs:

And this page shows their Blues DVDs:

Check out their YouTube channel to get an idea of the quality of their DVDs:

Here are a few examples that might help members with our current festivals:

Thanks guys.
I have never used any of this kind of stuff haven't had any lessons myself either which is a slow way to do things.
I'll give some a look.

He won't be able to do much over the internets because conection speeds in New Guinea are pedestrian at best.
