My throat is so often sore I'm afraid to sing again.  :'(

The only recipe I know is hot water with honney, lemon and ginger, with a little sip of rhum...

Gentlemen, please advise me something else to drink and get cured

A good shot of Whiskey seems to help me...if not two or three........then i can't feel a thing......or off course the boring remedy and lots of warm drinks that seems to help too but not as much fun.....

Of all the medicine that doesn't help, whiskey seems to be the best ;D

So it will be whiskey tonight, I'll tell the wife that two doctors prescribed it to me. I've Bushmill's and stratishla in the cupboard, I'll go for the Irish one

Hot coffee, hot tea.....with honey and whiskey added....it's the best of both worlds. You get the soothing from the warm liquid and honey plus the feel good numbness from the whiskey. If that recipe doesn't work then go for the whiskey straight....lol

Some good tips...

but be careful with the alcohol, because it has a drying effect on the throat......

Try gargling with warm water too...

ps..i always sip warm water between vocal sessions (every 5 mins or so) ooo and gargle with it before you start singing:) avoid alcohol when recording impotant parts... you may drink too much and think your the cats whiskers at the time...but the next morning when you listen back...gee wizz...not so hot:(

sorry i'm being a stick in the mud:):)

cheers

You onion stew, such vile brew,
You make me sick – a nasty trick,
    I know.

There you are, a filthy cur,
You stand aloof, nary a spoof,
    But real!

I'm all grossed out, your stench
    Is all about, you lout!
    Anon -

I'll drink you now, I must,
I know, but I'll wince, and pinch
    My nose.

    I can't complain, th'effects are known,
They're not a bluff; you heal
    My cough.

But must you stink to heaven high
And taste a bit like stale lye
And when I gulp, I want to cry
    Enough!

    You leave behind a fart-like taste -
I kid you not, the aftertaste
    Is smelly.

My pores now reek, right as they leak
    In highest feverish pitch,
    Of leek.

My urine smells of onions fried,
At least that's what I hope!
    Belied!

How gross you are, o how I wish
    That something better did exist
    To cure my ill!

thanks everyone, I feel better now

Fisherman's Friend lozenges are great. I like the "Original Extra Strong" best. Lots of singers swear by them.
