Only if you have some sort of Windows emulation on the iMac. For example, I run it in Linux under Wine, which provides a sort of Windows emulation. I've read that Wine will work on a Mac, but it seems like it would be hard to install because there are no official binaries available for the Mac. So you'd either have to build your own binaries from the source code, or get them from someone who's already done it.

Another option is to install virtual machine software on your Mac and run Windows in it. Then BR Librarian will work just fine on your Mac because it will actually be running under Windows.

A popular virtual machine that's available for free is VirtualBox.

https://www.virtualbox.org/

VirtualBox binaries are available for OS X. Of course, you'll need a valid copy of Windows to run under it. That might be a problem since you'd have to activate it to use it for more than 30 days. At least, that's true for Windows XP. I'm not sure how Microsoft copy-protects Vista and Win 7.

If getting a copy of Windows is a problem, you could always look for a copy of Windows 98 SE (you probably already have an old Win 98 CD lying around somewhere or know someone who does). Windows 98 doesn't require any activation and BR Librarian should run just fine under it.

Also, you can install Windows on your iMac under Apple's Boot Camp. Then, when you boot up your Mac, you'll have your choice of running OS X or Windows.

A virtual machine is more convenient though, because you can switch between OS X programs and Windows programs without rebooting. You can even run OS X and Windows programs at the same time.

Thanks 64 Guitars.

I think this is a great  innovation.  I am very impressed.

I think you should put it somewhere we can all find it again.  It will soon get lost when it goes over to page 2. On the home page somewhere would be good.

Okay, I've added a banner for it on the Songcrafters home page. Clicking the banner will take you to this topic.

You'll also find a link to the BR Song Librarian web page on my website under Software:

https://songcrafters.org/64guitars/BR/Software.html

For those who don't know or may have forgotten, you can always find a link to my website in the "Links" menu of the Songcrafters main menu at the top of every page. It's also in my signature.

And I've added a link to the BR Song Librarian web page on the Songcrafters Links page which you can also get to from the "Links" menu of the Songcrafters main menu.
