Written in 1985, never recorded but gigged many many times, I have had a few attempts at recoding over the years and always failed miserably, this is the closest I have come to the spirit of the live experience, but apologies to the Bassists and drummers! It is very U2, I make no apologies for that, only wish I still had my old echo box, modern delay does not have the same warmth and tone.
Also first time using Sonar's step sequencer in anger for the drums, had real issues with dropped notes! Any tips on that very welcome
Enjoy

v02. Update:
New: guitar re-recorded in time! Some drum editing and vox re-mixed
Video is from 1988 ish, it is the original footage of us playing this, but... sound is terrible!
I will post the mp3 if anyone wants it
Enjoy!  ;D

Lyrics:

Warned by a distant gunshot, by the powder in the air
Smoke rises defiantly to victory cries
Revolution is feared

Greeted by ghostlike faces
shades of grey , eyes of despair
The thrill of the kill has left our skin
But Revolution's in the air

Who's got time for the camera, who's got the words to share
Our losses are heavey and our bellies are tight but...
Revolution's everywhere

In the distance I hear shouting, battle echoes across the wall
And the haliers proclaim in the streets
Your Revolation will fall

Refrain
We held the flag, they held the law
We held our hands while they held their guns
With our backs against the wall

Gritter

Great lyrics and a very strong vocal performance. Though the mix is a little muddy, the energy is there. Some sweet guitar and bass playing give this an arena rock feel.
