Jerry Leiber ("Hound Dog", "Stand by me", "On Broadway", "Yakety yak") passed away at age 78.

Nick Ashford ("Ain't no mountain high enough", "Solid as a rock", "I'm every woman", "Ain't nothing like the real thing") passed away at age 70.

Sad day indeed. Oh to be able to translate the emotions of the masses into (circa) 3-minute pop songs.
