"Dogs Playing Poker"

Just when I swear
that I've had enough
from inside my glass
salutes my bluff

Slaves to a mutually
assured reduction
slaves to each other,
to our blood -- we are lovers

Whether or not
Rome fell in a day
at some point
this will all go away

Mixing metaphors
is my forte
our lives may be epic
but no Shakespearean play

Like Pavlov's dogs
we just want to be fed
so why do these games
mess with my head

If we have any hope
to feel how we felt
then we're destined to play
the hand we've been dealt

I guess my life's become
a single issue campaign
to get through this round
without going insane.

Yes, I dig it. I love how you get agressive with the tambourine, and great groove you laid down.

Another slick, tasty punk number!!

Total Lo-Fi punk goodness. I'm digging this big time. Great songwriting and lyrics (no suprise there), but the aggression and attitude is stellar on this one. F*cking brilliant!

I prefer the pool playing dogs myself, lol. I love the title of this song so much. A brilliant and subversive kind of irony  :)

It reminds me (many years ago...) when a former boss told one of the directors to go out and get a painting to liven up our office wall. This is what he returned with. Without any trace of irony...

The title came to me as I was writing it, because I was mixing metaphors, writing of bluffing, playing games, playing the hand your are dealt... and then Pavlov's dogs... I thought, seriously, how can I credibly sing of cardgames AND dogs in the same song...Eureka!

Very cool song Fuzz! I love those lyrics too. Great punk flavor and that quite almost half step kicking drum beat. I have no idea what i`m talking about. I play guitar!
