The situation at Fukushima has gone from bad to worse with a new report stating that not only did reactors 1,2, and 3 melt down, they also likely have experienced melt-through as well.

Unlike a meltdown, where the fuel overheats and damages the core, a melt-through occurs when the molten fuel, at temperatures above 3,000 degrees, actually burns through the bottom of the reactor containment, both primary and secondary, then through the building and directly into the ground, which is considered the worst case event in a nuclear accident.

The situation is so dire that one senior Japanese official, Ichiro Ozawa, has warned that all of Japan could become uninhabitable if nothing can effectively be done to rectify and contain the leaks.

The Genie has left the bottle.

Human race, good luck with that...
