Nope, no smell of fine cooking circuits.
Just the lights went out and that is all she wrote.

From what I've heard there may be a fuse on the circuit board, probably soldered on too that saves a cent or two on clips.
Was not about to open it while the warranty is still active. :)

Nope, not a word from the shop it went too.
I did get a PM from someone at fender labs in California trying to locate the amp, seems they want to try to get it sent to them before anyone tries to fix it.
So they can tear it apart.

Hopefully I get a replacement unit, if that happens  :D

bump

how did that turn out?

I'm also curious how this turns out and what the problem is. I have a Mustang I that I bought about 6 month's ago. So far so good but it doesn't have many playing hours on it and I haven't abused it too badly.

I hope it's not an inherent problem and that they fix it or get you a new one.

Test, test, one, two, three.....is this mic on?

I've been away on some hols, and worse work.
Fender replaced the amp, new one arrived June 30 according to the packing slip.
I did not get to pick it up till yesterday.

No indication of what actually happened to the original, but hearing from other owner reports it is was an unusual case.

that's good to hear it's been returned-

on a side note-i used mine (75 watt mustang 3)for an outside gig in the UP last weekend and performed quite well-
i had intended on using my twin but "settled" for the mustang-i wasnt sure if it had enough power to match up with the other guitarist using a 100w Kustom
no problems-in fact now he wants one-i'll send some music and pics when i get a chance to.

WOW, thats cool that it stood up to live gigging, and the other guy wants one......how was your tone at such a loud volume?

everything was mic'd-my master volume never went past 7-and was probably too loud for some at that

i used a fender twin model and a marshall to keep it simple-i had to try to remember a lot of the songs-and some i didnt know at all-so i didn't tweak as much as i would have liked-
the tones were quite good-used my sheriton most the night
the mustang 3,4 and 5 allow for a 4 button switch plus the 2 button one-mine shipped with only the 2 button-but i i'm gonna spring for the 4 button to toggle effects

no regrets at all-I'm glad i didn't lug that heavy ass twin up there now.
