How do you compose your songs?

I will finally get around to posting these as soon as I get them copywritten. I wrote a set of lyrics first then found what I thought was the perfect music to go with it. Later I was enfluenced by outside sources (another style or genre) that I thought would go with the lyrics. I re-recorded the song with the different genre and they turned out (well, pretty darn good...) This has happened to 2 of my songs. I will get these posted soon.

Considering the subject of composing, a group of students went to the grave of Beethoven and opened up his coffin on his 100'th birthday. They found in one hand some music manuscript and in the other hand was an eraser. They came to the conclulsion that he was "decomposing"
