Grandfatherhood staring me in the face - Arrrgghhh!!!!

I have to confess to mixed emotions here, I'm too damned young to be a grandfather, but when I was told recently that my daughter-in-law is pregnant, the mix of thoughts running through my mind was quite overwhelming, from the 'that's my boy' proud dad to 'oh bloody hell, they're 14000 miles away how will I get to see them' to 'bloody hell, they are 14000 miles away, that's going to cost me a fortune when Mrs Flash demands a grandparental visit every six weeks'.

Needless to say, after all the thoughts and concerns have given way to delight and excited anticipation, I can't wait to see the next generation of Fifes. It's a shame my parents weren't around to see it. They would have been just as thrilled.

Anyway. I'm glad I have got that off my chest.

If she who knows better decides and and suggests anything (to ands )
just do what your told/advised or just go along what has been decided  -it makes for a very happy laid back life
cos in the eyes of the delicate sex (wimmen) guys are not men but little boys with no idea of what lifes about
I could go on  but its best that you learn through experience

My Eldest grandchild is 14 now, so believe me when I tell you
that I thoroughly understand where you're coming from....LOL
It's ok, it grows on you after a bit....
