Anything from this DVD will just scare you, can't believe he went from this to Ziggy in just a few years:

Also, Google "Sell Me A coat", which also features the very wonderful Hermione and Hutch!

Cheers,

Nigel

It's bizarre how he tries to sing exactly like Anthony Newley (if you don't know who he is, listen to the song below - you won't believe it!). These early ones have  become strange little curios because of where he went later. But you're right - on most levels, they are insanely corny and verging on the pathetic. And yet in the middle of all this pop pap he did something as weird as 'Please Mr Gravedigger'. God knows how he went from Love You Till Tuesday to Space Oddity. It doesn't seem possible, lol.

I Love that early Bowie stuff! thanks for posting.

And Mull of Kintyre is one of McCartney's best!

I do however totally agree with "I Just Called To Say I Love You". His biggest hit too....blah!

QuoteI can't even own a Stevie 'best of' because I know this song is on there and might accidentally pop up on random

Musiquarium is the one to get.

It's called LSD.

In my opinion, The Lemonheads (especially Evan Dando) has made stellar versions of several tunes, but the next one is the only, that is not any masterpiece. A great tune by Suzanne Vega, but I think the  version by The Lemonheads is very clumsy...

hey! Just check my playlist! Is full of great songs turned bad songs by this humble servant of yours!!! ;-)

I like the background keyboard and the transposition in the end of SW's I just called....

I could put the last albums of Jamiroquai, but it doesn't count, as the "Great Artist" was departing bassist Stuart Zender.

Shiny Happy People by R.E.M....absolutely horrible, and I don't care if it's supposed to be ironic, tongue in cheek, whatever...it's just a terrible, annoying song.  Did I mention I'm not fond of this song? :)

Got to agree with you on that one Scott. I am an REM fan, but I instantly hit the skip button when that song comes on...its too cheesy for my liking ;D
