I know a fair bit of Handel's music. But I'd not heard Samson before.

This recording is in a box-set of Karl Richter's "Complete Recordings On Archiv Production and Deustche Grammophon" that I bought last December. I was a bit worried when I ordered it (100 discs, limited edition), but I absolutely adore the set since the moment it arrived.

Decided to give Samson a run this morning (at over 3 hours, it's a bit of a commitment if you want to listen to the whole thing! ;D ). About to start Act II.

That Indian girl on the bass guitar just left me breathless. What a bloody wizard.
