I never heard of this group "Toad" , but really liked it .

I was listening to the latest Porcupine Tree song , Of the new Day
This band was one of my favorite band in the year 2000's,  they took a break/hiatus of more than 10 years, now they are back.
Steven Wilson had a solo career during that time, but for me , it was never has good as PT.

Someone in my amateur can-barely-pull-off-a-Rolling-Stones-song expat cover band wants to play some Rush.

I'm not the biggest Rush fan, so I went looking for stuff. And found this. Wow! This sounds like Roxy Music on cocaine. No, not that. We already know what that sounds like. Rather: Roxy Music on Rush. That's the best I can do.

In recognition of all the recent Stooges covers (and bumps) plus StephenM's comment noting some sonic similarity to The Cars, here's a version of Iggy Pop's 'Funtime' (from his 'The Idiot' album) done by The Cars around the time of their 'Shake It Up' sessions.

Yes, that's Benjamin Orr on lead vocal. Apparently, after hearing this one Iggy told the late Mr. Orr "You sound more like me than me!"

This song is so brilliant. It paints such a picture of weakness and fragility. The lyrics and delivery are of a man trying to flex his power and rage to get what he wants, even as he senses his own powerlessness, and the near indifference of the woman he wishes to control.
