Title: have music, will travel
Post by: beleg on September 25, 2008, 10:09:28 AM
I am a fan of portable music, it is one of the reasons I love the micro BR. I love the fact that I can take it and my ukulele anywhere, the airport, my Dr's office waiting room, a bus stop.... etc.

I am curious to learn what portable instruments and music devices other people use.

My arsenal:

-- Ukulele
-- Thumb piano aka the Kalimba
-- Stylophone (http://originalstylophone.com/)
-- Kazoo
-- Harmonica

You're a regular one-man band, Beleg!  :)

I have a stylophone too (for nostalgic reasons). I'd love to get it on a song oneday, but I just haven't managed to find the right fit yet.

Everything I do is guitar-based (using a range of 6 guitars!), so I'm not very portable musically speaking. But I love the fact I can sort out rhythm arrangements and mastering anywhere I like with the BR: train, bus, in front of the TV.

That is interesting, I don't have much portable instruments but I'm looking to buy an Ocarina. A pendant like one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ocarina

A Parker Nite-Fly guitar is about as portable as I get.  I've considered picking up a Steinberger Spirit, but am not sure how well they play and sound...

Often I bring along a 25 key USB keybard controller that I can plug into the laptop running Reason.

Anyone here own a old school game boy and a copy of LSDJ? I am curious what you think of it. I just found my old game boy from when I was a kid and I am wondering if it is worth the investment to track down a copy of LSDJ. thanks
