Title: Alex Chilton, RIP
Post by: cuthbert on March 17, 2010, 09:59:16 PM
Was just finishing up some stuff at work and ran across this terrible news. Alex Chilton was in the Box Tops, founded Big Star, and had a solo career as well as producing others. He wrote some great songs, and was one of the pioneers of the power pop genre.

One of his great songs:

that is really sad news, alex and his band big star where and still are a very influental band, they where never very succesful when they where a going concern but probably sold more records years after their demise i would compare them to the velvet underground in that respect
