Had an hour for myself and felt like do some recording...

Never played this one before ... at least not on a acoustic ... but always liked it ....


Well next time I'll practice more ...

4 tracks .... one fingerpicking guitar ... one vocals ... one recorder ... one more guitar ("leadish")

Very cool version of this rocker - Wow a nice surprize actually !!  Luv the vocals, guitar and that recorder - so nice sounding flute-ish!

"Rainbow in the Dark" or "We Rock" next?

That was bad ass G! I looked at possibly doing this myself before the Whitesnake one. This was way better than I could have done! ;)

Top class, Geir. Another brilliant post. I love your voice. When are you and ORH gonna do a duet... I would pay to hear that. As an aside, didi you ever notice that Ozzy always said 'Oh Lord No...' while Dio always said 'Oh Lord Yes....'? Weird....

LOL! I could just about get the eq and effects on a single track to my liking in an hour, no way could I produce a whole song! This sounds very polished for something that you didn't know well.

I don't know this song or anything by Dio really...but this is a classy recording.

What a great song... I don't know the original but as far as I'm concerned, you own it! Guitars, voice and recorder all sound fantastic.  You are really getting good at putting a quality recording together.

Well done! Dio would love the recorder, it really gives it that midevil times feel...nice job!

Don't know it, but like it very much!  Gee, I should have kept up my skills on the recorder - I recall that I was top of my class in 6th grade music class! (us musical incompetents who didn't join "band", had to take a music class where we played the recorder), but I foolishly dropped it after that.

Thanks for the comments on the recorder, but that was just keeping it simple and drowning it in reverb .... I can not play any kind of flute .... but I'm getting good at faking more and more instruments ;D

I'm not familiar with the original, but this sounds so good. I love the voice and guitars, but the flute gives a fine spice to this! Excellent work, again!

I don't know the original (will check out that link), but this seems to fit you like a glove. You could make any song sound good though. As always, a treat to hear.

 - This is fantastic Geir. I was a big Dio fan  "back in the day". Still think "Mob Rules" is a  great Sabbath album too!

Yes... Dio Rules... loved the Holy Diver album, I gotta say Geir... This one get's better and better everytime I listen...  I agree with ORH. I prefer this version... you got it goin on bro.

Wow, just watched the Dio vid and heard the original for the first time and now I'm even more impressed!  Your Unplugged version is such an imaginative interpretation and so well done.

Awesome unplugged version. I was wondering how you were going to approach this acoustically and you've done it proud. Mr Dio will be looking down giving this the thumbs up on one hand and the sign of the Devil on the other. Beautifully played. Great arrangement & sung with true feeling. A purely inspired version of a classic Dio song.

So well bumped, really don,t know how I missed this one pure class, so much going on sometimes some will slip through, but so glad it,s been brought to my attention loved this from the first, first class cover, just excellent.

I often call this sound "Progressive Medieval". :)  The acoustic combined with the woodwind brings about thoughts of traveling bards and campfires and plenty of mead.

What a joy this was to listen to.  I have a huge grin on my face and the song's been over for two minutes.  See?  -->   :D
