That is what makes this song so great Tony, no need for a link, just press play (in a metaphorical sense that is) and let it become what ever you need to hear at the moment.  This guy is genius, all in a metaphorical way of course, not really believing in miracles like this, but damn man what a song...  You two? are the only sane ones among us Tony, and you see two of yourself, where does this leave the rest of us?

Somebody should do the exact opposite of this song (call it the Spring Song?), then play them at exactly the same time and they will cancel each other out, thus opening a rift in ...well you know what will happen, I shudder to think about it, the world as we know it will be changed forever.

Quote from: smalltins of fruit on November 11, 2009, 02:00:00 PMSorry chaps i am having a right time trying to upload music.

As of November 2nd, uploading of MP3 files is no longer allowed here. Instead, you have to upload your file somewhere else, then post a link to it here. There are several free file hosting sites on the web that members have been experimenting with. A lot of folks like SoundClick, but there are other sites too.

See these messages:

You could also take a look at recent posts from other members to see which file hosting sites they are using:

https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?board=65.0;sort=last_post;desc (https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?board=65.0;sort=last_post;desc)

It's early days but, so far, there's no one file hosting site that we can recommend. They all seem to have various drawbacks. So try a few out and use whichever one you like best.

Here's a link to a forum with information on lots of free file hosting sites:

I've downloaded it and hope to add some satched-up lead to this awesome tune  8)

Is the noise reduction algorithm that your using on this tune, starting to break down after so many plays, or am I just noticing my tinnitus ?

And just a wee shade out of tune while you were working the upper register, but other than that, the best and most technically proficient cover of this tune that I've ever heard. Truly a multi-platinum effort.

That is true, Mark.

In my experience, I have found (as Gnasty has proved), that it's not necessarily what you add to a composition, but often what you leave out that really counts.

And I think Small Tins of Fruit's song was great, but I just find myself liking the cover a bit more.

I think what SToF did here (where did you go anyway, I hope you dont mind us lunatics having so much stupid fun with your post), what he did is create an exact mirror composition.  For every note used, he also played the exact opposite note, all colliding together to create the perfect sound that we hear in this composition.  What Gnasty did with his cover, I think, from how I am hearing it, is reverse the mirroring process so that the first note is a mirror of the second note, is a mirror of the third... so that it creates the illusion of a cover of the original.  But I think the genius of Gnasty is that his cover sets up a perfect receeding mirror that takes the sound further down into the mirror, kinda like a musical black hole.  So what you are hearing Mark is not the notes beeing a wee shade out of tune, you are hearing the notes bend, ever so slightly, as they are pulled into the infinite mirror hole, pulled across the singularity point.  You are lucky Mark, had you listened just a little longer, you may have been pulled into the infinite sound mirror also, never to return.  How are your ears, still ringing from the brush with infinity.  I bet it was exilerating.  Well done Gnasty, you took this masterpeice and transformed it into an infinite masterpeice.  I am humbled by all of this.

I like your theory of being witness to a musical singularity. Music so pure that it shall not be heard.

The perfect sound - So pure that it has the power to strike down the listener. As evident in the Aldo Nova video, the perfect sound can even be used as a weapon to jimmy the lock of a warehouse door. In the wrong hands... I don't even want to think about it.

Nigel, you are a genius, more bass, more bass will complete the sonic ring modulation, saving our universe from complete collapse.  Brilliant, you have saved the lives of millions.  This may be the solution to many, many things: I'm thinking world hunger, weather devastaton, peak oil, teanage acne...more bass in the mix.  I am going to use this simple remedy from now on.

I was watching a Grateful Dead documentary about their album 'Anthem of the Sun' again, and it reminded me of this classic songcrafters offering!  :D

This is a written reference to what was going on:

"...Eventually, Hassinger grew frustrated with the group's slow recording pace and quit the project entirely while the band was at Century Sound, with only a third of the album completed so far. It has been reported that he left after Guitarist Bob Weir requested to create the illusion of "thick air" in the studio "

You can get close to a 'thick air' essence on the MBR by plugging your guitar in then recording it with the 'Line in' input activated. It's not so much 'thick' as 'turgid' air. But still better than The Dead achieved. If only they'd hired SmallTins as producer!

The mind-staggering universal awesomeness of this entire concept pushes me to the point of being
completely underwhelmed. Overwhelmed has already been used.

Reminds me of this whole deal after getting topic-sidetracked and digging around a bit:

https://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?topic=3542.0

Probably should be in this section.

And it inspired the cool tune Greeny wrote:

thats because you are using your left ear, try switching to your right ear, its much more challenging that way.

Ha ha! I have the same trouble with the buzz of my Telecaster single coils. I think I'd need a humbucking guitar to do this song justice.

Greeny, go here and check out the humbucking pickups for Telecaster and Strat guitars.

I've used them for many years and also installed them when upgrading guitars for customers, when I had
my own business repairing and customizing instruments. Highly recommended.
If you're handy with a soldering iron you can easily install them yourself.

I can't quite make out the 3rd line in the 2nd verse....is it me or can everyone else hear it OK?

Sounds a bit like a Bob Dylan line or is something about something else... ???

Interesting that a Google Spider was tuning in to this...

A spider does not have ears. Mammals hear with help of hairs that are located in the ear where pressure waves in the air are converted to electric signals. These signals are then sent to the brain and interpreted as sound. A spider hears with very tiny hairs on her legs (thrichobotria). She is very capable of localizing the origin of a sound by interpreting the movement of the air produced by that sound.

I have often been impressed by the movement of air that Autumn song generates ;)

I sometimes wondered why old people grow hair in their ears. Now here is the answer : it's to compensate them becoming deaf...

BTW, I found a list of silent sounds on the Wiki page 64G mentionned, but no reference to our momumental Autumn Song. It wrights this though :

This is an incomplete list of songs, which may never be able to satisfy certain standards for completeness.
Revisions and sourced additions are welcome.

smalltins of fruit should be in that list !

I wrote a song the other day and wished it was like this  ;D I didn't post it as I knew this one was far more interesting musically .
Some songs are like that, you spend. Hours writing it then realize  it doesn't cut the mustard and will never be as good as this.
I saw the album with this song on it in the record store the other day, here is the record cover picture .
