Title: Frozen in Time
Post by: Tangled Wires on August 27, 2009, 11:59:05 AM
This is our latest song we have written. Tried to keep the guitars in the background as this is very much a "vocal" song

Very nice, Andrew.

You've asked about panning before.  Let me tell you what I would do with the luscious guitar on this song:

Supposing the guitar is on T1V1, I would copy the entire track to T2V1 but ever-so-slightly out of sync with the original.

Utility > TRK > CPY > TIM >

St 00:00:00-00.0  > NEXT

En 00:05:00-00.0 [a bit beyond the end of the track, so you get the whole thing] > NEXT

To 00:00:00-00.3 [ever-so-slightly out of sync] > NEXT

Repeat: x 1 > EXE

Once you have done that, you can pan T1V1 all the way left, and T2V2 all the way right.  Level and reverb both tracks equally.  It'll really fill the space without sounding "doubled."

Do it for me, okay?

DOH!!

Never occurred to e to use TIM rather than MEA like I normally do so that I could do this on unit instead of on the PC .... sometime I am so thick it is painful :D

This was just totally superb.  The vocal was especially haunting.  Good Idea keeping guitars to the background. Great production.  Nice to hear another female on here!!!!!!!!!!!!  The more I listen the more I like. could have been longer.

Agree with the other comments, this is a very haunting tune - i think enough has been said about the singer already - pure class, always a joy to hear such a beautiful tone. But its also a beautifully written song, love the opening two chords. Nice.

Man, I wish I had found your stuff a long time ago. You really have a way of capturing the emotions. Great song, and great application of "less is more".  The simple dreamy guitar is perfect for this song and vocal style. Brilliant.

Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww This is mega fantastic,I know your idea originally was to keep it more of a vocal track but this could be so so much more ,Im talking strings, pianos backing vocals.
It is so haunting and the platform is defo there to throw this right out into the world.
The music really compliments the vocal and it is a great song lyrically.
This is one of the best songs Ive heard on this site, you guys are so good.
This song is lying waiting to be resurrected  ;D.
Great, great song.   Er ,,,,,,I should probably add the word BUMP  ;D

Stunning - the vocals need to breathe and that's just what you've done.
