Title: Saijinn Heavy Challenge
Post by: Saijinn Maas on August 09, 2009, 12:37:02 AM
Well, haven't done too much in a while. Was out of commission for a bit due to some type of nervous system/muscle loss sort of thing that "attacked" me. In otherwords, I couldn't use my hands. Seem to be all better now, almost 100%, and I heard 48's challenge backer and thought I'd jump on a do a take.

So here it is one take, "grace notes" and all. Maybe I;ll take another crack as my hands are getting better.

Hands not 100% maybe, but everything else was, great take! Hope you get all better real soon mate, I remember not being able to play as my right hand was in a cast. I tried all ways to be able to strum, very frustrating!!

That's sounding good there :)

You're not alone on getting some sort of lurgi - glad you're recovering. It's been the same here, at least I've been "playing" but haven't had the energy to get the mbr out for weeks, still don't feel like singing at all :(

Thanks everyone for the kind words, even though listening back to it myself after having at least SOME sleep, I think it's pretty bad. :( Sucks when your fingers won't move how you want them too :/

AR - some type of lurgi is right. I was admitted to the hospital for three days because they thought it might have been Guillain-Barre Syndrome, which it wasn't. They ended up releasing me at my insistence, and never actually figured out what it was. :/

Hope you're better soon :)

Very cool, melodic lines. Great feedback and tone - Feels like it's just below the bursting point. I like the tapping, too - we don't get much of that here.

Goodness, that's a sharp guitar tone, nearly cut my speakers in half! Some pretty sharp playing as well, glad to hear you are nearly back to full strength. Like the melodies you have in here that give it a lyrical feel.

Cheers,

Nigel

Is that good? I can't tell. ;)

I just got a  Boss ME-70 (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Boss-ME-70-Guitar-Multi-Effects-Pedal-105301980-i1435629.gc)

Gonna have to record some more stuff taking it thru it's paces.

Thanks for the comments everyone. :)

Awesome as usual!  Did you end up doing that GC thing?

Also im curious, can you do leads like this in all keys, or are there a few in which you are most comfie?

Thanks Davo ;)

Because I've only now just started being able to get back on guitar, it looks like I missed signing up for the GC King of the Blues thing. The location closest to me was filled up pretty fast. There's always next year. ;)

I am pretty comfortable in any key, anywhere on the fretboard. Since I play by ear, I don't psyche myself out with worrying about key signatures and stuff like that.

yes Alex...it is a cracker...I generally don't give many listens to folks who aren't about the site anymore...or seemingly so...but since you bumped it...I had to hear this...and yeah it's great... I heard this guy sing on the "The Life of a Bubble" saga...and that was great...
which I made a collage version of....would like to post but never could get all the permissions..
anyway...this guy plays fantastic...
I should listen to the "Founding Father's" more
