Hi everyone
haven't been here for ages... what do you think of my last collaboration with jbsteelguitar ? All advice welcomed.
I forgot to say this is jsebsteelguitar's first ever recorded song, and he seems very proud ;D of the final output !

Hey! You're back! We need you on here to represent France (you're still the only Frenchman amongst our multi-national community as far as I know...).
There's some very tasty spanish / gypsy-jazz flavoured guitar here. The whole thing moves along very nicely. Is it an original?
Just a thought - I think this would sound really nice with you singing in French. Maybe you should do a French version for us?!
Either way, it's a lovely piece of work. Great collaboration guys.
I can't believe I'm the only french guy here.
My friend jsebsteelguitar, has tried to join the community, and that would have doubled our ranks, but he's had trouble logging in...
Yes, this is an original, I suspect my fellow jseb to have lods of them hidden in is barn...
I'd love the sing something in french, but we french people suffer of cultural complex when we sing in french : if you sing something intelligent, it's boring, if you sing a love song, it's silly. ::) Only sad or funny songs are alloyed - it's time for revolution !
I'm a Serge Gainsborg fan, so I think French-language songs are great!
Yes, he wasn't averse to social control !
Really, really nice playing. Excellent in fact.
I totaly enjoyed the song and play it a second time as I kept wanting to add a bit of percussion to it - quietly as my wife sleeping in the other room... I will be downloading it to give it a listen via my home stereo later on.
The chord progression is wonderful, and the lead notes stand out perfectly. I think the singing was very good - A French version would be cool, too!!
Thanks for sharing!
Mark
I found this completely, utterly, absolutely and enormously enjoyable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your style!
Full of French Coolness!!!!!!
I love France (The Somme and Arras in particular).
This reminds me of the excellent vibe I experienced out there!!!
Votre guitare est formidable!
C'est une grande chanson!
Peace

I liked this, too...and I agree - a French vocal take would be tres magnifique!
(I don't speak French, but I could listen to Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birken, Bridgette Bardot, and France Gall all day) ;D

please do so , join the percussion in. I hope that for once, orur tempo stayed the same all the way long
thanks to everybody for your support !
The spanish/gypsy-jazz thing sounds great and at times it reminded me of Dire Straights unplugged (wait... I've never heard Dire Straithts unplugged... :D) So, the traffic going by made it sound like we were sitting in a bistro... somewhere far away from home. I like those clean-sounding acoustic guitars and the voice sounds fine too... just wish it was a bit more up front in the mix. Fine job and a pleasure to listen to!

Of course you spotted the influence. Here's how my friend plays them unplugged, in standard tuning !

nice playing , the two guitar parts gel together very nicely , with a twist french accent on the vox , really good

Great acoustic guitar playing and the two of you play very well together. The guitar sounds are very good in the recording as well. I agree, a French version would be great, it might sound like a mellow Negresses Vertes!
Cheers,
Nigel
Loved this Well Done!
yes-this is really enjoyable track
Hi!
I'm new here.. danieldesete told me good things on the boss community...
Thank you very much for all your nice messages!
Some of you quote Gainsbourg. Also love Serge Gainsbourg... it's but very hard and difficult to write a song in french like him, with wonderful lyrics and beautyful melodies!
I work with danieldesete on a french version of the song, with cocal take by danieldesete...

Great playing of a lovely song!
Love it!
OTD bump, great tune!
Rock On!
OTD Bump, Missed this originally......
Alex
I love this custom of the OTD bump... it means I get to hear all kinds of gems like this that I missed 1st time around. It conjures up imagery of the French countryside.... Beautiful acoustic playing & I love that nonchalant air that the vocals capture. Superb stuff!

What does OTD stand for?
This is a great track. I look forward to the version en français. Listening on headphones the vocals could be a little higher in the mix, but that doesn't detract from the overall pleasure of listening to it.

On This Day. When songs come up in the On This Day jukebox (https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?action=OnThisDay) on the anniversary of the day they were originally posted, they often get bumped. Some people like to abbreviate this to "OTD bump" or even "OTDB".
There's even an On This Day BBCode tag that looks like this:
[otdb]
and produces this:
Once again OTD Bump,
Pure class...
Alex
On This Day ahh!!! ok ;D
