Hi all, a cover of Tom Petty's early band Mudcrutch. Hope you enjoy. Willie
Fender Strat, Ibanez Bass, PRS SE Custom, BR800 Drums.
I was aware that Tom Petty had an early band called Mudcrutch but this is my first exposure to their sound. I can hear the Tom Petty vibe here, specifically in the chorus. Willie, your voice and guitars sound great!
I wasn't aware of Mudcrutch before, but this song has the Tom Petty vibe in spades.
Great performance and production, Willie - lush, even.
Really nice song and lovely performance, real live feel. Enjoyed the instrumental break.
fits you perfect.
I read an interview with Tom and he said when he was playing early days in Florida around bars... he would say "here is one from...(so and so)" and then play one he wrote.... i don't know if this was that early... also I heard he took lessons, as did many around there from Don Felder...
anyway... this sounds great.. and I can get the Petty vibe...
I really loved the first 3 or 4 Heartbreakers albums.
you sound great on this and it fits you perfect.

Damn you, Cuthbert. You beat me to it. Everything I was going to say.
As much as this has a Tom Petty vibe, I'd recognize the distinctive style of The Gobi Desert Canoe Club anytime.
My tired eyes!
I though i was going to hear a Mudhoney cover. When i saw it was coming from GOBI i got nervous. Is this the end? But no... It was just my eyes playing tricks on me.
Cool Petty vibes, but i agree Gobi makes it his own. A good one! Although your own compositions are at least equal.

gotta agree with this
Really cool. I like Petty and have listened to a little of Mudcrutch, bit dont recognize this one, but like what you've done. Pro playing and singing all around. I actually just scored free tickets to see a Tom Petty cover band "PettyBreakers". I got an advertisement from Ticketmaster in my email, and clicked to see what the price for tickets was, and was shocked to see it listed as $0, so I quickly "bought" 4 tickets. I'm still wondering if it was a listing mistake and I will get an email explaining that I won't actually get the tickets unless I pay something. but maybe it's just the concert venue doing some kind of promotion to attract more customers to it in the future.
