Title: Easy Street
Post by: thetworegs on November 22, 2023, 04:37:13 AM
I decided to have a little tinkle on the old Ivorys this morning and this one sneaked out ...
She'd moved down town to easy street
She'd got lost her way trying to find her feet
that crazy life that she did lead
Had led her down here to easy street
Her mind was full of dreams, she'd never have
Oh how her life was awful sad
From a mother who didn't want her
To father who didn't need her
The trouble in her life made her heart bleed yeah
She was lost
Never to be found
Wandering around on easy street
She'd was on her way down easy street

Break

Her heart was in need of love and more
She'd needed the comfort from behind a door
She couldn't find it while stuck on the street
Trying to find that love that she need
She was lost never to be found
While living on easy street
On easy street

Break

She'd met Duke on easy street
He promised to show her the  way through life
Down and dirty he was mean
He broke her spirit
broke her into the street
She ended up chasing Dragons heretofore
She never did get behind that door
Her mind was filled with dreams she'd never have
The Duke took by the hand and led here down to easy street
down to easy street
down to easy street

Nice slow blues. Good enough to consider adding some guitar maybe? Just me not knowing when to quit. ::)

Fine vocals and lyrics. Good work all around! 8)
