I've been a bit busy for the last month, holidays,work..life. so i thought i better get back to listening to peoples songs again. And trying to get back into music. Been a bit difficult finding time and also writers block, and no new ideas.
This is a short blues song i wrote a while back. Keith don't really do blues he said, so i got another friend to help with the vocals, "Terry Wigmore".
Keith also wasn't available for the bass at there time so i ended up using a bass track from Logic pro.
It's not ideal but it works good enough.
I actually managed to do the lead solo in one take which i couldn't believe haha.
Thanks for listening.
LYRICS
I'm dead tired when i get home
Sorry i 'aint got no time
I know you think I'm being SO unkind
But what am i supposed to d-d-d-d-do
You know baby, I'm the loser in the end
Yeah baby, I'm the loser..in the end
VERSE 2
I'm trying hard just to please you
But you know that things just 'aint right
It seems it doesn't matter what i do
Coz it always ends up in a big fight
Oh baby I'm the loser in the end
you know baby, I'm the loser in the end
Guitar solo
You change your mind like the weather
One day I'm wrong, the next day I'm right
And just when i think its over again
You wanna give me your love tonight
Well baby..your the loser in the end
Yeah baby..your the loser in the end
Oh baby i'm the loser in the end
Yeah baby we're both losers in the end
this is rockin good madness... blues? sounds pretty red to me! lol
Terry did a nice job on the lyrics. The bass really works, ain't nothing wrong there...
but the champ here is the leads...
yes... sometimes it is good to really scale back and go almost like a 3 piece which is what this more or less is... and it has a lot of room for the instruments to breathe....
so I like it... very much... also I dig Terry's embellishments on the vocals
glad to hear you are well... and a break is a good thing sometimes...
I love a good rockin' blues and this one checks all the boxes for me. A great upbeat blues that reminds of Huey Lewis and the News' style of blues/rock. A cool guitar solo/fills and the vocal/lyrics are perfect for this style. Well done guys!
A lot of fun with this one, Darren. Some cool guitar work and Terry never disappoints with his vocals. That bass rocks along quite nicely too and one take for the guitar solo??? Jeez, you're better than me, mate - I take ages getting something how I want it.
Besides with others have said, I dig the drums on this. Cool programming(?) Little too sterile to be live maybe but I've been fooled before! Great rocker! 8)
Yeah, nothing wrong with a bit of blues. I think lots of us like to check in with the old trusty blues every now and again. Nothing complicated but always hits the spot, always makes me feel like pouring a nice whiskey... but too early in the week... what!? Yeah sorry getting old ! :)
Super guitar work and a great vocal from your friend.
Mike
The intro grabbed me straight away. Polished rock and roller. Slick guitar and super vocals. Rock on guys! And I empathise about real life butting in and mojo going on AWOL
Slinky man, real slinky....love the leads........that's attitude
Great up-tempo rocker. Love the lead work and the background harmony vocals.

This is a toe tapper from the first note! Brilliant lead guitar additions and the keys sounds fine too. Bravo!
