Title: PBS Arts Talk | Rhiannon Giddens with Elvis Costello
Post by: Ted on July 20, 2023, 09:20:30 AM
I'm enjoying this discussion between Rhiannon Giddens and Elvis Costello:

PBS Arts Talk | Rhiannon Giddens with Elvis Costello | Episode 5 | PBS (https://www.pbs.org/video/rhiannon-giddens-with-elvis-costello-qjhmua/)

They talk about songwriting approaches, and Elvis' work with McCartney, Bacharach, etc.

I had to use a VPN to spoof my location to the USA in order to watch it. If you are having trouble seeing it, I might be able to help.

There's no way I would possibly know this for sure, but I suspect that if someone were to illegally download it, the video would be about 1.3 GB. Not that this information would be useful for anyone outside the USA who wanted to get the video.

I really enjoyed the film about disparate artists putting music to unearthed(?) Dylan lyrics or something like that (New Basement Tapes?). Both Elvis C. and Rhiannon G. were in it. The latter is filled with self-doubt about her contributions (or at least that's what the arc of the film was), and in the ends, she uncorks one of the most beautiful tunes I've ever heard.

Thanks for the share.
