I found this poem (author unknown) on the web called Suppose.....it kind of resonated with me so I thought I would use it to write a song. I modified the poem somewhat and aded some of my own lyrics and developed it into this song...it was a fun excercise for sure...Keith added his awesome bass to the track to finish it off nicely....
All That We Say
written/performed/recorded by Dave Berry, with some assistance from Keith Berry on bass
Dave: lyrics/vocals, electric guitar (Epi SG, Gretsch G5420T, Hagstrom Impala), GB drums and organ
Keith: Bass
recorded on an iPad into Garageband
My dad was made to memorize this poem in school in the late 1940s.
Damn Blues, this is epic... and what wisdom in those lyrics... but you took this and made an epic rock classic.... off the charts brother... this song has alot of influences... from prog to southern rock to pshychadelic and others as well... I wouldn't know where to begin to describe this... so I shall take the advice and be quiet...
awesome production and splendid bass work...
Fine musicianship, Dave and a well written song to compliment the excellent poetic lyrics.
What a wonderful music statement. Grandiose and warm sounding. Musically complex yet inviting. Beautiful for all the right reasons.
A fine outcome to a cool experiment. I love the stories behind these tunes. The music has a fanfarish quality at times I really dig.

Prog tastic, great recording too, don't know the lyrics but you done them proud!
Quite a production. Lot going on with the chord progression and change-ups. Very entertaining! 8)
I needed an another dose of this. The coffee wasn't cutting it. Hearing these airy sounds and the voice of warm hug made my flippers(* to float. The world is a better place with songs like these.
(* I'm not wearing any,but i'm taking artistic liberties here.
Always nice to hear you brother well played

A fantastic, proggish chord progression with some cool guitar and bass work. The words and vocals kept me listening, intently. Nice work Dave and Keith!
A very unique track you have created here Dave and solid stuff from Keith too.
The poem you chose to work from is a very interesting piece. I actually love the concept and idea and I think it's true. Words and talking can screw us up pretty badly. Staying quiet more often and only speaking when you know what the hell you are talking about can be a much better policy. Great idea and tune Dave.

Well put together and well imagined, I enjoyed it a lot.
It's of no consequence but I was put in mind of Zappa.
Excellent Idea the experiment worked the production excellent as ever your class act Dave
Awesome, I'm never going to catch up but glad this one was bumped - It rules! Love the chord progression, kind of 60's Floyd-Esque like Atom Heart Mother. Even Keith caught the vibe, sounds great.
As usual, great production and playing, goes everywhere just fantastic!
This was such a fun one to work out on the bass! You just keep getting better and better with recording these. It was hard to work out the bass line because of all the chords here! It is really all over the map, but it all works! I was thinking of adding some more keys but it didn't need it on this one...it's certainly full enough! Love those guitar parts, immaculate tones! I look forward playing on more in the future (especially the next one coming up!)
