Title: I fear
Post by: thetworegs on July 05, 2023, 04:08:06 AM
I was watching a video of Richard E Grant explaining of returning to his home in the south of France for the first time since his wife died and it struck me how lost he was in dealing with his wife's death and it touched me hence the song..Thanks for listening
I fear the cooling of summer
I fear when the blue skies fade
I fear the suns when it stops shining
I fear my hope has been betrayed

The sorrow of your passing
Follows like a shadow on my soul
The waves of distress they take a hold
They take a hold

Tomorrow I have to face alone and lost
I know each day that comes to me
I'll become atoned to the loss

I feel the warmth of memory
as It guides me through like a hand
I'm still lost within this darkness
I feel I walk a foreign land
I walk a foreign land

I can't face tomorrow
I still hiding from today
My heart is closed to a future
A future, I don't want any way
A future,I don't want any way

Break

I fear the cooling of summer
I fear when the blue skies fade
I fear the suns when it stops shining
I fear the gloom of winter
I fear your memory will fade
I fear your memory will fade
I fear your memory will fade
I feel your memory fade

Wow... theatrical and musical style delivery.  A real heavy hitter even though over all it is a nice mellow track.... but difficult emotions lead to wondrous and powerful expressions in music.
So it is as if his energy was inside you expressing itself...
Thats just how good you are at recreating emotion from story..
Bravo

A real emotional tearjerker.
The piano work sounds great.
The lyrics rip at your heart.
But this is a picture you paint so well for us all with this piece.
Nice work Trev

It's strange what inspires different musicians to write songs. Loss is a common enough spark, less so for someone else's loss. Very emotional song.

Very well done Trev. That piano and your voice together are very powerful... haunting, it can't fail to hit the mark as you sing every word with full feeling. Great stuff.

This is a powerful heart tugging vocal performance Trevor. Backed by just the piano let's your vocal styling shine bright within the dark storyline. Excellent, bravo!
