Title: Hello Sugar T
Post by: funkyaxe on June 30, 2023, 05:32:25 PM
New off the press. Not sure if I'm going to add much to this. I quite like the rawness of it. Would welcome any opinions.

Hello Sugar T - Andy Dursley 2023

Hello Sugar T
Won't you come talk with me
Maybe we can spend some time
Hoping that you'll stay mine

Damn it, woman
You drive me wild
You know you make me shake
I try so hard to be so cool
With all the sparks we seem to make
The millions of sparks we generate

Hello sugar T
Just wondering if you are free
to take a walk in the park
Much later when it's nice and dark

We'll light up all the trees
All the darkest spots
rolling through the undergrowth
With all the sparks we seem to make
The millions of sparks we generate

My world is upside down
all grey matter trashed
Since I've met you
Since I met you

I'm grinning wildly like a clown
All my cheques finally cashed
Since I've met you
Since I've met you

Hello sugar T
Come snuggle up here with me
We've all the night left to play
so many words left to say

We'll whisper through the night
All nonsense it may be
but in the crystal clear morning light
Still the sparks we seem to make
The millions of sparks we generate

This song works for me on so many levels. Love the vocals and lyrics. A raw completeness I'd say with the fine guitar work.  8)

just reading the lyrics makes me want to shake, rattle, and roll....

but this is pure wonderlust.... the lyrics could only come from a romantics heart.

I totally get it.

musically this works really well just like this.  It would be an excellent listen at a pub or night club as is... really lovely playing and singing...

Nice stripped back song and the delivery of the vocals reminds me of Kevin Ayers.

A lovely, percussive style of playing. You deliver the romantic lyrics well with your smooth vocal. Nicely done!

Yeah I like the rawness of it, it's a nice laid back style. Kind of jazzy.  Great guitar playing and vocals. All in all a really nice love song.

Very nice chilled vibe.
Lovely sentimental lyrics.
Guitar sounds so good.
What did you use?
It has a nice strat slap to it.
Great track.
Although I like the rawness of it I think  you should give it a full simply red type backer to it.
It's a cool relaxing type song.

Jazzy and romantic but sparky and edgy as well, cool harmonies and performance. Very unique sounding, I love it!

Really nice Andy, it's great to hear just the guitar and voice alone. A real raw honesty to that. Love the melody going in unison with the vocal melody in places. Great stuff.

Songwriting, playing and vocal are perfect.

I think it needs a nice maximizer (ozone) on the master bus, and a bit of character and vocal EQ.

Overall the mix is clear and clean but the vocals are not very loud and the guitar could use a bit of room reverb.

GREAT work.
